sugar beet pulp

Sugar beet pulp is a by-product obtained after processing sugar beets in sugar factories to extract sugar.
The beets are chopped and boiled in large vats to release their sugar content into water. The sugar-infused beet slices are then used to produce syrup, which is further processed into crystal sugar. The leftover pulp, which contains very little sugar, is referred to as wet beet pulp.
This pulp is pressed to remove excess moisture and then offered as animal feed, especially for ruminants, due to its high fiber and digestibility.
