wheat bran

Wheat is a single-year herbaceous plant from the wheat family that has been cultivated all over the world. It is heavily preferred in continental climate. Along with October, it is the most cultivated grain source in the world.  It is a basic foodstuff used in flour and feed industry. The rind (bran) can be separated as well as ground without separation.  It contains starch and protein substances necessary for nutrition in a fairly appropriate ratio. For this reason, it has been the most important food item of people in almost every era. When given to ruminants other than sheep and goats, it should be roughly broken or crushed. Otherwise, a significant part of the wheat fed is excreted with feces without being digested.  It is the most preferred grain source after corn in poultry feeding.
